Bhakti by The Lake Mantra Meditation
Sunday July 26, 2026 7:00am - 7:30am EDT
Mantra meditation is a simple practice with real depth. It works through repetition, attention, and relationship with sound. At its core, it is less about effort and more about returning to something steady and familiar.
In this meditation, I introduce mantra in a way that is practical and accessible, grounded in lived experience rather than abstraction. We approach the practice with a sense of curiosity and openness, allowing it to feel less like something to master and more like something to return to.
Participants experience a guided mantra meditation, using repetition as a way to settle the mind and reconnect with a quieter, more natural rhythm. The practice is simple, steady, and approachable, creating space to unplug from constant input and return to direct experience.
This session is less about refining technique and more about rediscovering a way of being with attention that feels intuitive and sustainable. Students often leave with a quieter mind, a clearer understanding of mantra, and a practice that feels both grounding and accessible in everyday life.

Rise With the Land — Morning Flow
Sunday July 26, 2026 8:00am - 9:15am EDT
Honor the land and elements around us as we gather on the grass by the lake.

Inspired by the Peruvian Chakana, this practice moves through the three worlds as living experiences within the body.

We begin close to the earth, grounding into the deeper layers beneath the surface.
From there, we rise into the heart of our human experience, guided by breath and awareness, before opening into a sense of lightness and expansion beyond the self.

The flow is slow, intentional, and deeply embodied, with an emphasis on sensation over form. Participants are invited to listen inward and allow movement to unfold in its own time.

We close with an extended savasana and guided shamanic journey, offering space to rest, integrate, and explore the inner landscape as the earth and sky embrace you.

A quiet remembering. A return to the body as a bridge between worlds.

Step outside. Look up. Breathe.
At Camp Kula, nature is not just the backdrop. It is the teacher. And in this 60 minute immersive experience with Kaitlin of Taking Root, you will learn how to truly receive what it has to offer.
Through guided mindfulness, sensory-based practices, intentional movement, and a grounding tea ritual, this session invites you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with the natural world that surrounds you. The towering pines, the earth beneath your feet, the sound of wind moving through the trees. All of it becomes medicine when we know how to listen.
This is not just a nature walk or a meditation class. It is a practical, embodied experience designed to regulate your nervous system, deepen your awareness, and strengthen your connection to yourself, to this community, and to the land that holds us all this weekend.
You will leave with a take home toolkit of nature-based practices to carry with you long after Camp Kula ends, simple but powerful tools for finding your ground wherever life takes you.
Come ready to slow down, open your senses, and let the mountains meet you right where you are.

Closing Cacao Ceremony
Sunday July 26, 2026 2:00pm - 3:30pm EDT
Since ancient times cacao has been used ceremonially to connect with the infinite presence of love. I'd love for you to join me and experience my cacao ceremony. It will be a ceremony to open the heart, give thanks, heal, express creatively and rejoice with the spirit of the cacao. Woven with heart songs, prayers, sound healing, intentions and laughter, the ceremony is a time to express gratitude for the cacao spirit and allow for that spirit to blossom infinite possibilities within you.
“Chocolate is a divine, celestial drink, the sweat of the stars, the vital seed, divine nectar, the drink of the gods, panacea and universal medicine.” – Geronimo Piperni
The Cacao that will be used is a very special type that a cacao shaman selected personally for its energetic qualities. It comes from Guatemala, the heartland of the Mayan people who have used it for millennia. We’ll learn about cacao’s origins, history, heath benefits and energetic/spiritual qualities and get to experience pure cacao with new levels of awareness and appreciation. Come experience what the Mayans consider, the food of the Gods.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE DURING A CACAO CEREMONY:
  • A heart opening journey of oneness, love and ecstasy
  • Healing therapy – releasing blocks, recognizing patterns, following your heart
  • Finding a connection to your highest self, your own power and truth
  • A shamanic or spiritual journey
  • A space to enter into meditation – being able to silence the mind, connect to the wisdom and spirit within you
  • A balance of masculine and feminine energies in the body
  • Enhanced creativity
Ananda has been leading cacao ceremonies since 2010.  While traveling in Guatemala in 2009, Ananda had a profound experience with the spirit of cacao. He went on to connect with a cacao shaman in Lake Atitlan who shared with him his way of holding cacao ceremonies and how to connect with the spirit of cacao. Upon Ananda's return to the states, he began to share ceremonial space with this special cacao he brought back from Guatemala.  Since 2010, he has shared over 100 ceremonies both nationally and internationally and even led a cacao ceremony intensive at the Esalen Institute.
